Real liquorice is not one flavour — it is a spectrum, from gentle caramel sweetness to deep Nordic salt. Our guide walks you through it, one taste at a time.
Discover Liquorice
A familiar flavour, in an unfamiliar setting.
For our German founder, liquorice was never simply black candy. It was soft, salty, sweet, intense and endlessly varied. In Malaysia, that full experience remained largely undiscovered — so Pryter was created to bridge those worlds.
The full storyReal liquorice extract. Declared, always.
Many "liquorice" sweets rely on anise instead of the root itself. Ours begin with real liquorice extract, slow-cooked in small batches, and every pack declares exactly what is inside — extract, sweetness, salt and all.
- Real liquorice extract, never a substitute
- Slow-cooked, small-batch texture
- Full allergen and ingredient transparency
- Crafted in Malaysia

Something darker than chocolate.
Something more unexpected than ordinary sweets — for Raya, Chinese New Year, Christmas, or no reason at all.

I always thought liquorice was not for me. The Salted Caramel changed my mind — soft, warm, and the salt is so controlled.
The Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt is dangerous. The chocolate snap into that soft centre is something else.
Bought the Discovery Box as a gift and ended up keeping it. Tasting in order really works — by the fourth compartment you understand liquorice.
Finally. Proper European-style Salty Black in Malaysia. Deep and honest — exactly as it should be.
The Soft Original is my afternoon ritual now. One piece with black coffee. Slow indulgence is the right phrase.
